1000 Questions for Couplesby Michael Webb From the Site... "These are questions that go beyond small talk and simply making conversation like you will find in most "questions" books… There are hundreds of fun "getting to know you" questions but there are also important questions that most people don't even think of asking but are absolutely necessary if you want to have a happy relationship..." REVIEW OF 1000 QUESTIONS FOR COUPLES BY EBOOKREVIEWS.NET While most eBooks dealing with relationships espouse to have all the right answers, Michael Webb’s “1000 Questions for Couples” has, as the title suggests, all the right questions. But unlike the rather pedestrian questions most of us ask when beginning (or are already deeply involved in) a relationship, the questions he challenges you to pose to your spouse, partner or first date, at first, seemingly come out of absolutely nowhere. (A few from the sections titled “Pets,” “Car & Driver,” and “Holidays & Celebrations” come to mind.) But then you think about them for a second. A minute. A second minute. Then you work up the nerve to finally ask, and poof! an hour passes absorbed in a conversation sparked by that single question. And it’s what happens in the conversation to follow that Mr. Webb finds so meaningful. The answers that your partner (or potential partner) offers, along with those you offer yourself, are at once the foundation upon which the relationship is founded and strengthened, or shaken and toppled. “1000 Questions for Couples,” in short, is about compatibility. It is about knowing whether or not you and the person you are currently in a relationship with are right for one another. Ideally you’ll know right from the outset; but practically these questions can be effective at any point in what may be many years or even decades with another person. And while, in part, his premise is to stave off potential relationships that will unavoidably go sour (and potentially result in divorce, yikes! perhaps with children already involved, double yikes!), the ebook “1000 Questions for Couples” is also about helping those who will remain together for many a silver anniversary to better understand one another’s similarities and differences. But know going into this book, that Mr. Webb does not sugar coat everything. Some of the questions he challenges you to ask are difficult, ranging from touchy subjects about drug-use to infidelity, or in-laws to morality. The point is, however, while we may not want to ask these questions, and while both asking and answering can even be an embarrassing or harrowing experience, they must be asked if you expect to have an open, honest, and most important, loving and lasting relationship. With that said, numerous questions throughout (in every category, in fact) are quite fun, and if anything, worth asking if only to communicate with your partner via laughter. Finally, Mr. Webb, if you do not already know who he is (or at least are about to be reminded… “Oh, that guy! Of course, I know him”), has been writing eBooks (and book books) about love, relationships, dating, marriage, and (oh la la) sex for about as long as those things have existed. Okay, not quite that long, because he’s still a young fellow; but what we mean is, he’s been writing about them for as long as people have been willing to truly open up and talk about them in an effort to make their relationships stronger. And the recognition and accolades for Mr. Webb seemingly never stop arriving. Check him out next time he’s scheduled for Oprah, a show on NBC or FOX, or in the pages of Men’s Health or Cosmopolitan. He’s already appeared on or in them all, not mention countless other publications, radio and television programs. |
